UPDATE FROM DLWTRAIL COMMITTEE: . Your newly-formed DLWTRAIL Committee has held its first meeting. Minutes are available on the Committee page of the DLWTRAIL website, together with future activities and meeting dates. See link below. As a result of our initial groundwork, we're delighted to have secured a meeting with Leicestershire County Council at County Hall on 11th February, to put our case forward. The fact that LCC has agreed to a face to face meeting is a significant positive step. Stay tuned to this facebook group and the DLWTRAIL website for further developments. . www.dlwtrail.wixsite.com/campaign/committee

We now have a DLWTRAIL COMMITTEE comprising six local volunteer residents. We'll be holding our first meeting shortly, and will publish the results within the next couple of weeks. Please stay tuned to our newly-added 'Committee' page on this website for updates.

We're also pleased to have received a broad expression of interest from Leicestershire County Council. This is a first tentative step to progressing our campaign "up the line". We're hopeful of securing a meeting with the appropriate people at LCC in February.

I realise this all sounds vague at the moment, but please rest assured that your committee is busy building our case. Every single one of the 130 expressions of support we've received from residents of both Long Whatton and Diseworth counts. Thanks to everybody who has given us a statement of support. We still welcome statements of support from anybody who hasn't yet sent us one! Stay tuned for another update within the next couple of weeks. - Mike Doyle
