The effect of proceeding with HS2 on the DLWTRAIL campaign is currently unclear. It may affect the proposal in terms of the solution/route and/or in terms of mitigation funding, or it may not. We simply don't know. But what we do know is that, if the proposed HS2 route goes ahead, it will be a third piece of major infrastructure (in addition to M1 and A42) to slice between the two villages of the Parish of Long Whatton & Diseworth. At time of posting, the petition is heading towards 10,000 votes. It needs 100,000 votes to trigger a debate in parliament.
